Coaching

Basic skills coaching is available on Tuesday evenings during the season for junior athletes from U7 to U12. All junior athletes are welcome. Events covered include shot put, discus, long jump and sprints.

Athletes wishing to attend on a Tuesday will need to sign up and nominate which event they would like coaching for and bring a gold coin donation for use of equipment, and club maintenance.

Further details will be published closer to the commencement of the season.

Javelin training is available with Kevin on Tuesday evening from 5.00pm for athletes from U11 to U17.

High Jump training is available with Phil on Tuesday evening from 5:30pm.

Sprints coaching is available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:00pm and on a Saturday morning at 10am.

Sprints, hurdles and long jump training is available on a Sunday with Andrew. There is a cost of $10 per session for this coaching.

Training for U/9’s up for Walks, Middle distance, Cross country (winter season)

Days and times are :

Tuesday’s – Barton Park 5pm-6.30pm
Thursday’s – Barton Park 5pm-6.30pm
Wednesday – SOPAC – On discussion 5.15pm- 6.45pm – (Entrance fee applies to track.)
Sunday’s – Dundas Park – On discussion 8.30am- 10.00am

Training goes ALL YEAR ROUND.

Multiple event development coaching (i.e. running, jumping and throwing) is available on Wednesday evenings at 5.15pm with Darren Wensor for athletes in the age groups of Under 12 and above.

Bookings are essential and there is a cost of $15 per session for the coaching.

Athletes who undertake these sessions join a group and therefore reserve a place to attend each session.
